Build a Customized Plan That Makes Sense for Your Business
The Nationwide® STAR Program offers professional money management and the tools to fulfill your fiduciary obligations. We combine the experience of Wilshire Associates with a suite of investment vehicles and essential services to fit your business needs, including:
- Customized asset allocation
- A wide range of institutional investment options
- Manager selection and oversight
- Investment Policy Statement support
- Quarterly rebalancing, periodic performance reports and annual plan review
- A plan-specific Web site
- Benefit payments and tax reporting
The use of diversification and asset allocation as part of an overall investment strategy does not assure a profit or protect against loss in a declining market. Neither the company nor its representatives give legal or tax advice. Please consult your attorney or tax advisor for answers to specific questions.
Investing involves market risk, including loss of principal.
Establishing your portfolio
We’ll work with your investment professional and third-party administrator to design a plan to meet your requirements and your fiduciary responsibilities, from developing the Investment Policy Statement to revisiting the plan as needed. And we’ll ensure that your investments comply with fiduciary standards by providing a diversified group of institutional, style-specific investment accounts.
Completing the Nationwide® STAR Program liabilities and risk profile questionnaire is the first step to determining a proper portfolio. This proprietary tool considers current and projected liabilities, plan census data, and actuarial assumptions to narrow the range of optimal portfolios, from which we’ll help you select what’s called the “model asset allocation” to construct a model portfolio.
Selecting investment managers
We work with Wilshire Associates1 to select investment managers associated with the asset classes that make up the model portfolio. We have developed a comprehensive lineup of separate, multi-manager accounts featuring a diverse group of institutional and boutique money managers.
Maintain your portfolio with less effort, greater efficiency
To keep up with constantly changing markets and to maintain the model asset allocation, the Nationwide® STAR Program automatically rebalances portfolios quarterly. Each portfolio is also subject to annual review. Based on changes in plan parameters or updated market assumptions, investments may be reallocated.
